And then it takes a turn for the unnerving, as in seeking a remote fishing spot they find far more than they ever imagined the world could hold. ![]() It is about their finding comfort and connection in fishing. The Fisherman is a story about two men who have lost their families. The second, and what really motivated me to put this review to the page, is to rather explicitly compare this book to Lovecraft and tell you why I think Langan comes out ahead. The first is of course to articulate why I recommend (or don’t recommend) the book. In writing this review I hope to do two things. I can’t say I’m entirely sure how this made it onto my TBR pile, yet it did, and I’m quite happy it did. ![]()
